It is with deep regret I have to announce the sudden death of Andy Fowler.
Andy
was for many years a very popular and active member of our club. His skills of buildng and flying all sorts of models, and
his willingness to pass on that knowledge, is well known.
Friday 26th March
Ian Peacock gave us another very interesting talk,
this time on finishing.
Friday 16th April
Manny Williamson concluded his talk about the BMFA and how the insurance and
other services work.
30th April.
Our meeting venue moved for the evening to Greens Norton Community Centre where we had a great fish
and chip supper plus race night. A most enjoyable evening for everyone especially those lucky so and so’s who won loads of dosh. Many
thanks to Mike Lamb and Janet for putting in so much hard work to make it all happen, aided and abetted by several other members.
3rd May.
An
intrepid band attempted to set up the our gazebos with exhibits and the flight simulator at the Towcester May Fayre. This would have
been the third time that we had attended the event, each time with lousy weather! The very strong winds blew away both of the gazebos
even though they were well staked down and tied to two cars!! We had to retire defeated.
5th May.
Several of our retired members
took a coach outing to the RAF Veterans Day at Hendon. An amazing gathering including many WW2 heroes with a “Battle of Britain” flight
fly-by. One member was interviewed about his exploits by local radio and TV.
Camping Weekend 5 - 6th June
We held our first
camping/caravanning weekend at the field. Everyone thought it a great success. The weather was fairly kind to us, and much fun was
had by all........... Though some got very tired!Graham just got hungry!
Eastbourne sloping expedition weekend. 18th June - 21 June .
Super
W/E as usual. The Friday & Monday suffered a bit with lack of wind, but Sat & Sun were excellent. A dozen of us enjoyed
the hospitality of the area, and this time the wind was on Butts Brow (flat ishhh walk ) for most of the time.
