History
The NMAC is one of the oldest model aero clubs in the country.
 
President Brian Baker has maintained a scrapbook for many years, and some extracts are shown here. The early history of the Club

When in 1946 Howard Boys competed in Lyon, he was accompanied by Bryon Dun, still an active member of the Club.
 


 
Taken at one of the Club's previous flying sites between Roade and Blisworth, former President Bill Harding with his Sopwith Pup. The guy on the right is supposed to be John Fairs.
Since 1972, many events have taken place, including the establishment of regular exchange visits with the Model Flug Gruppe of Marburg in Germany
Merv Heycroft's magnificent eight foot wingspan Falcon. This model was driven by one of the first four stroke model engines, the OS 0.60 cu in. No rocker covers, valves all exposed!

The Model shop opened in Northampton by Mr Ted Evans in 1937 is now run by his son, Nicky Evans.

I was a member of NMAC way back in the early 1960s. Having just shown my face again after nearly 50 years of another life I’ve been asked to jot down a few memories of the club.
