Roger's Engine page
Roger Brown and Roy Bricknell have been attending an evening class in Model Engineering. Roger has finished his first project, an air engine.
Roger has mounted it on the mantlepiece, on an oak plinth. He says it started first time. That MUST be a first for Roger!
The engine is powered by compressed air and is a test piece suggested by the Wellingborough College. He has never used a lathe before, and making this engine involved turning, milling, boring, screwcutting and knurling...."Brilliant!"
There are three other aeromodellers on the course, Roy and two chaps from Nene Valley Aeromodellers. The class size is about eight.
Roger recommends that NMAC members join up, Tuesday evenings, 7 to 9 PM. Next term starts in September: further details from Roger, Roy, or Northampton County Council. Cost about £60 per term.
